Quinoa Idli

Ingradients: Serving Size 4 People Quinoa  - 1/2 cup
Urad daal - 1/2 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tbs
Idli rava - 1 cup
Salt - per taste

Quinoa and Flax seeds are my favorites and I use these everyday basis. Flax seeds are high in fiber and Omega 3 fatty acids. If you not a meat eater, one great source of getting your omega 3 fatty acid is by using these little tiny seeds in your diet. Read my other posts about Quinoa and Flax seed.

Begin by washing quinoa seeds and soaking with urad daal and methi seeds for 2-3 hours.
Grind them to paste. Add the Idli rava and salt, mix it well.  Manage the consistency, It should be slightly on the thicker side. Pour it in to the Idli container, steam it for 10 minutes. That's All!. Ready to eat. Serve it with Chutney or sambar. Enjoy the Protein rich Breakfast.

Nivi, Nice way to substitute rice with quinoa in idli. Would like to try this out.

I also wanted to try Dosa with quinoa instead of rice, was wondering if you have tried. If you already tried , please share.

Hi Saraswati, Substituting quinoa in idli or dosa gives a wonderful taste at the same time it is more healthy. Quinoa dosa also tastes wonderful. Give it a try.
